Time locks

Recently I ran across a question regarding time locks. A customer wanted to be able to keep the safe from opening for 24-48 hours. He referred to it as a time release safe.

I replied that we can install a time lock on almost any safe. A "time lock" is a term that for electronic locks means that you can specify the exact opening schedule of the lock, and for mechanical locks means that you can enforce a lockout of up to 144 hours (6 days).

Mechanical time locks can only be effectively installed on TL-30 and above safes (the safes that end up in jewelry stores), whereas an electronic lock such as the kaba-mas LaGard Smartlinc can be installed on most safes. The normal cost of the lock alone is $450, which will affect your package price considerably if you are looking to use it on a $300 drop safe.

Please visit Direct Safes and, since information on time locks is limited, give Rollande a call at 866-553-6069. She can help.
